Free painting estimate template (Excel)
Most estimate templates are an invoice with a blank “price” box. This one works the price out for one job: rooms become square feet, square feet become hours at your rate, then you get a price at your margin and a quote block to print. No email, no account.
Download the Sheenbid free template (.xlsx, 8 KB)
One sheet. Opens in Excel, Google Sheets (File › Import) or Numbers. The rows marked EXAMPLE show the format; overwrite them. The rates are blank on purpose, so use your own.
What's on the sheet
- Your numbers
Wall and ceiling rates, loaded labor $/hr, overhead $/hr, target margin. Blank until you fill them in. - Rooms
Up to 12 rooms: size, doors, windows, coats. Wall sq ft, ceiling sq ft and hours fill in. - Materials
Product, gallons, $/gal, plus sundries. - Total
Hours, labor, overhead, materials, cost, and price = cost ÷ (1 − margin). - Quote block
Client, address, scope, price, valid-for, signature line. Prints on one page.
Fill it in this order
- Your numbers: find your real rates first.
- Rooms: one row per room as you walk the house.
- Materials: gallons and what you pay.
- Check the total, fill the quote block, print.
What the quote block needs: what to put in a painting quote, with a checklist.
